$2 Million Price Drop For 32-Acre Paul Simon/Edie Brickell Estate

NEW CANAAN, CT — The stunning, 32-acre New Canaan estate owned by musicians and songwriters Paul Simon and Edie Brickell is back on the market, but this time with a hefty price reduction.

Last year, the celebrity couple, who raised their three children in the home, listed it for $13.9 million, but this week it was re-listed for $11.9 million, a reduction of $2 million. Simon bought the estate in 2002 for $16.5 million.

Patch reached out to the listing agent, Anne Krieger, with William Pitt Sotheby's International Realty, for comment but did not receive a reply.

Nestled on a quiet cul-de-sac not far from downtown New Canaan, the home offers six bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, a pool, guest house, greenhouse, pond and a plethora of other amenities.

In 2020, the home's assessment was dropped to $10.15 million, which brought its annual property tax bill down to a shade over $184,000, according to realtor.com.

Simon, who was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2001, was half of the legendary duo Simon & Garfunkel, and he is considered to be one of the greatest popular music songwriters of the last 50 years.
