2 New Canaan HS Students Positive For Coronavirus, Officials Say
Dozens of students have been quarantined as a result.
NEW CANAAN, CT — Two New Canaan High School students have tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19), and as a result, 55 students are under quarantine as of Monday, according to officials.
Additionally, one Saxe Middle School student is under quarantine due to COVID-19, but that student has not tested positive. Whether that quarantine is related to the high school quarantines was not disclosed.
Also under quarantine is one staff member from West Elementary School.

Due to privacy concerns, no personal information was disclosed concerning the affected students or staffer.
The high school is operating under a hybrid model with half the student body on campus at a time, and currently is not changing that protocol as a result of the positive tests, according to Schools Superintendent Bryan Luizzi, as reported by the New Canaan Advertiser. The school is taking steps to prevent the spread of the virus.
