2 Vehicles Stolen, Items Taken In New Canaan: Police
Two vehicles were recently stolen from driveways in New Canaan and police are reminding residents to lock their vehicles.
NEW CANAAN, CT — Two vehicles were recently stolen from driveways in New Canaan this week and police are reminding residents to lock their vehicles.
In a news release, Chief of Police Leon Krolikowski said a Colonial Court resident reported an Audi A3 stolen from their driveway around 7 a.m. on Monday. The owner said the vehicle was left unlocked with the keys inside.
According to Krolikowski, a car seat, jacket, drum equipment and a golf club were inside the vehicle when it was stolen.

On the same day, a Windrow Lane resident reported a 2017 RAM pick-up truck stolen from their driveway around 8 a.m. The owner said the truck was likely left unlocked with the keys inside.
Two other vehicles in the driveway at the time were locked and appeared to be untouched, Krolikowski said.

"Please remember to always lock your vehicles and take the keys with you," Krolikowski said in a news release. "Secure valuables [and] never leave valuables in your vehicle. Often, identity theft occurs when drivers' licenses and credit cards are stolen."
