The New Canaan Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club and TD Bank are joining with the town government to organize this year’s town spring cleaning effort on Saturday and Sunday, April 25 and 26.
“It is our goal to tackle all our public spaces downtown, our town parks, our school properties and our residential neighborhoods. We really need your help!” says an announcement on the town government website. For the town government, the Inland Wetlands and Public Works departments are working on the effort.

Organizers have asked community organizations, businesses and churches to volunteer to clean up a particular area, which should involve a commitment by volunteers of an hour or two.
The organizers have tried to plan for area assignments, they say. “We have numerous streets, schools, parks, parking areas and public spaces to cover and would greatly appreciate everyone’s help,” says the announcement on the town government website. “ Please email kristine.ready@newcanaanct.gov or call (203) 594-3090 with the name of your group, contact email address and what area you are interested in cleaning or to request an assignment.”
