Bowhunters Available To Thin Deer Herds In New Canaan: Report
Deer hunting season began in New Canaan on Sept. 15.

NEW CANAAN, CT — Deer hunting season began in New Canaan today, Sept. 15, and town officials announced that certified bowhunters are available to private property owners to help with thinning herds through Jan. 31 when the season ends, reports the New Canaan Advertiser.
Currently, town officials say that there are as many as 75 deer per square mile in New Canaan, well above the state recommended total of 12 per square mile.
