Coyote Seen Dragging Leg Trap Around New Canaan

It was described as "legal animal cruelty" by the town's animal control officer.

NEW CANAAN, CT —Some residents are concerned for a coyote that will likely die a slow death from starvation after its leg was caught in a trap.

The coyote was first seen Dec. 12 by a Jonathan Road resident, according to the New Canaanite. It appears that the trap was set by an unqualified or amateur hunter, said Officer Allyson Halm, head of Animal Control for the Police Department.

She called it "legal animal cruelty."
