Heavy rains have been pelting the region on Tuesday, Sept. 25.

NEW CANAAN, CT — The National Weather Service has issued the following Flash Flood Warning for New Canaan and other lower Fairfield County communities on Tuesday, Sept. 25:

* Until 4:00 PM EDT.
* At 1257 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the
warned area. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses
as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

Yonkers, Stamford, New Rochelle, White Plains, Mott Haven, East
Tremont, Port Chester, New Canaan, Rye, Mount Kisco, Harlem,
