GE CEO Lists New Canaan Home for Sale

CEO Jeff Immelt is reportedly downsizing from his 10,000+ square foot home to a 3,500 square foot triplex condo.

NEW CANAAN, CT- General Electric CEO Jeff Immelt has listed his 10,458 square foot for sale.

The six bed, 10 bath stone and clapboard country home sits on four acres of land that includes trees, a pond and fountain.

It also comes with six fireplaces, a gourmet kitchen, garage, exercise room and stone terraces.

The sale price is $5.5 million.

Meanwhile Immelt has reportedly bought a $8 million 3,565 square foot triplex condo, according to the Boston Business Journal.

In other GE news the company announced that it plans to cut 100 jobs in Connecticut as the company prepares to move to Boston. Between 500 and 600 jobs will move from Fairfield to Norwalk.

GE has been in Fairfield since 1974 but company leaders frustration with tax increases and Massachusetts willingness to offer them $25 million in tax incentives and up to $120 million in grants clinched the move to Boston, according to reports.
