The article said, as of the end of September, the number of single-family homes on the market has reached an all-time high in 10 years—297.

Also, real estate agents said the amount of time to sell all the housing inventory has increased.

Experts in the field, the Advertiser reported, cite New Canaan’s aging population wanting to downsize and are leaving the area rather than buingy smaller homes or condos.
