Jaguar Stolen In New Canaan Involved In Police Chase In NY: PD
The luxury vehicle had been left unlocked and with the keys inside.
NEW CANAAN, CT — A 2017 Jaguar was reported stolen from the driveway of a home on Silvermine Road in New Canaan early Saturday, and the vehicle was chased by police in New York later that morning before disappearing, according to New Canaan police.
The luxury vehicle had been left unlocked and with the keys inside while it was parked in the New Canaan driveway. Another unlocked vehicle in the same driveway was broken into, but nothing was taken.
No arrests have been made, and the stolen vehicle has not been found as of Monday.

"Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, criminal gangs are active throughout Fairfield County," said New Canaan Police Chief Leon Krolikowski, reiterating sentiments he made last week about the increase of such crimes in town. "In the past, some of the vehicles stolen in Fairfield County were used in violent crimes."
Additionally early Saturday, a resident on Mill Road reported seeing people breaking into vehicles on that street.

The suspects were seen in a dark-colored SUV, and as police searched the area, officers found an abandoned Honda Accord that had been reported stolen out of Bridge that day.
Police also discovered that several mailboxes in the area also had been entered.
Also last Thursday, an unlocked vehicle in a driveway on Cheese Spring Road in New Canaan was broken into and $5,000 of golf equipment was reported stolen.
