Kittens Abandoned At New Canaan Post Office; Police Investigating

The kittens were discovered on Saturday at about 6:45 a.m.

NEW CANAAN, CT — Three newborn kittens were abandoned at the New Canaan Post Office on Locust Avenue over the weekend, and an investigation has been launched by authorities.

The kittens were discovered on Saturday at about 6:45 a.m. on the landing dock, according to New Canaan police. Officers had been dispatched to the building on a report of a suspicious package, and they found the kittens in a Calvin Klein shoe box.

"Due to the intense care newborn kittens require they were transferred to skilled hands at PAWS in Norwalk," police said. "Abandoning any animal is a crime and this is an ongoing investigation."
