Lawn Sprinkler Restrictions In Effect For New Canaan
Aquarion Water Company issued the advisory for customers in Greenwich, New Canaan, Darien and Stamford.

Water customers in Greenwich, New Canaan, Darien and Stamford are being urged by Aquarion Water Company to limit their lawn sprinkler irrigation to twice weekly, the company announced.
"Although rains brought a welcome end to our area’s drought, Aquarion is committed to ensuring the communities we serve will always have enough water for human consumption and fire protection," wrote officials in a statement. "In partnership with the communities we serve, Aquarion is now making its current mandatory restrictions on sprinkler irrigation part of our permanent water conservation program.
"Please continue limiting your in-ground and above-ground sprinkler irrigation to a maximum of twice weekly according to the schedule on the chart [posted on this webpage]. You may use drip irrigation, soaker hoses and hand-held watering at any time."

Though 2017 has been significantly wetter than 2016, Aquarion still says that restrictions are necessary, and adds that plants "can live on twice-weekly watering, or even less."
