Legal Fees Will Eat Up Most Of Fotis Dulos' Estate: Report

HARTFORD, CT — Despite recently winning a civil judgement against the late Fotis Dulos, Gloria Farber, the mother of missing Jennifer Farber Dulos, has not received any of the $1.9 million she was awarded.

Farber, who is raising the five children of Jennifer and Fotis Dulos, this week has asked the court to turn over any personal property that was part of Fotis Dulos' luxury home building business to toward satisfying that debt, writes the Middletown Press.

However, Farber's attorney, Richard Weinstein, told the publication that legal fees will likely eat up most of the remaining assets from Fotis Dulos' estate, which will leave Farber and the Dulos children with little to nothing.

Fotis Dulos was facing kidnapping and murder charges in connection with Jennifer Dulos' disappearance when he died by suicide in January. Jennifer Dulos vanished from her New Canaan home on May 24, 2019, and she is presumed dead. Her body has not been found, but she has not officially been declared dead by a probate court, which has delayed any disbursement of the remaining assets.

The Duloses were in the midst of a contentious divorce and child custody fight at the time of her disappearance. Fotis Dulos died before he could stand trial.

Two people, Michelle Troconis and Kent Mawhinney, currently face conspiracy charges in the case. They are accused of helping Fotis Dulos in the crime; both have pleaded not guilty. Troconis, who is free on bond, returns to court Nov. 13; Mawhinney remains in custody and is next scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 24.
