A New Canaan resident reported over the weekend a larceny with a value of approximately $1 that had far greater implications, police said this week.Â
According to Sgt. Carol Ogrinc, a 59-year-old Ponus Ridge man reported at approximately 11:25 q.m. on Saturday, October 5, a small blue-and-grey lock box had been stolen from his property sometime around 3:30 to 4 p.m. on Friday.
The box contained a key to the man's home, Ogrinc said. An investigation is ongoing.Â
