Man In Stolen U-Haul Arrested: New Canaan PD

He stole items from a business and then left in a stolen U-Haul truck, police said.

NEW CANAAN, CT — A Wallingford man was arrested after he stole items from a Grove Street business and then left in a stolen U-Haul truck, according to police.

Hoyt Moyles, 59, was acting in a concerning manner and took several items from the business Aug. 5, police said. Police were given his license plate information and a check revealed it was U-Haul truck reported stolen from Manchester, according to police.

Moyles and the truck were located at the Gulf gas station on South Avenue. Moyles wasn't cooperative and gave several different names to arresting officers, police said. He was charged with second-degree larceny, sixth-degree larceny and interfering with police.
