Two NCHS Athletes Named Ram of the Week
Shawna Ferraro has been chosen as the New Canaan High School Ram of the Week for the week ending October 9. Shawna Ferraro is a sophomore forward/midfielder on the varsity girls field hockey team. In our 2020 season opener, she scored the game winning goal in sudden victory overtime to defeat Darien 3-2 in a thrilling rivalry matchup. Her shot was a beautifully executed reverse chip into the upper right hand corner of the goal cage - a skill with a high degree of difficulty that she has been working hard to master. She was also voted the Ruden Report Female Player of the Week for her efforts in this game. We are so proud of Shawna!”

Henry Lindberg has been chosen as the Ram of the Week for the week ending October 16. Henry Lindberg is a senior and captain of boys varsity soccer. He has been impressive from the start of the season, leading the team as starting forward! Along with spearheading the teams attack with four goals in five games, Henry has also been a true leader for his team, supporting and encouraging teammates!

The Athletic Department recently implemented this award to honor an athlete who has exemplified the Athletic Department’s core values of Responsibility, Accountability, Motivation and Strength of Character. The specific criteria as follows:
• Exemplary contributions to the team both on and off the field/court
• Putting the needs of the team before themselves
• Displaying a positive attitude and enthusiasm for their sport both on and off the field,
court, or pool.
