New Canaan-Based Silvermine Arts Center Receives $10,000 Grant

Silvermine Arts Center is pleased to announce that it has received a grant of $10,000 from The Barbara Benton Davis Fund, a donor-advised fund at Fairfield County’s Community Foundation.

“Arts organizations such as Silvermine play a critical role in the vibrancy of our towns and region. And they have been very negatively impacted by COVID-19,” said Karen R. Brown, the Foundation’s Vice President of Development and Philanthropic Services. “We are pleased this funding from The Barbara Benton Davis Fund will support Silvermine at this time, providing general operating support.”
Silvermine has exemplified excellence in art and art education for nearly a century. What attracts some 17,000 artists, students, and visitors annually to Silvermine is the pivotal role it plays as a community-gathering place that deepens understanding and empathy through the transformative power of art.

Barbara Linarducci, Chief Executive Officer of the Silvermine Arts Center, expressed her gratitude: “We are so grateful to be a recipient of a grant from The Barbara Benton Davis Fund at Fairfield County’s Community Foundation. We are doing everything possible to sustain our daily operations and provide services to our community. A grant such as this provides vital operating support during this challenging COVID-19 crisis.”
