New Canaan Coalition Launches Anti - Vaping Campaign
The New Canaan Coalition is thrilled to partner with eateries in the community to educate and bring awareness to Vaping.

The New Canaan Coalition is pleased to announce the launch of the 2021 substance abuse campaign, focusing on vaping. The campaign is utilizing a peer to peer model with educational material designed by New Canaan High School students to educate others about the dangers of vaping. New Canaan CARES’ Stacey Walker, who serves as the Coalition Coordinator shared, “We are using the language the students developed because they know best how to reach their peers and share this vitally important information.”
Community partners Dante’s, Joe’s Pizza, Pinocchio Pizza, and Vicolo Pizza & Trattoria will be using pizza boxes designed by high school students over Super Bowl weekend. Zumbach’s coffee cups will feature anti-vaping stickers that the Coalition’s Youth Advisory Committee designed. These stickers will also be featured on take out bags from a growing list of eateries including Club Sandwich, New Canaan Chicken, Tony’s Deli and CT Sandwich.
New Canaan CARES holds the grant and coordinates the Local Prevention Council (LPC). In CT, each municipality has a LPC composed of stakeholders from twelve sectors, whose goal is to increase public awareness of alcohol, tobacco and other drug prevention with a primary focus of youth.
