Saxe Middle School Student Hit By Vehicle: PD
The crash occurred Tuesday morning near the New Canaan school.
NEW CANAAN, CT — A Saxe Middle School student was injured Tuesday morning when he was struck by a vehicle near the school, according to New Canaan police.
The crash occurred at about 8:15 a.m. at the intersection of South Avenue and Farm Road, and the 12-year-old boy was taken to Norwalk Hospital by New Canaan EMS. His injuries were described as minor.
The boy was struck by a driver who was turning left onto South Avenue from Farm Road, police said. The boy had just gotten out of a vehicle that was stopped in traffic on South Avenue, and he entered the road to cross the street to get onto the sidewalk, police said.

"[The child] did not cross South Avenue in a designated crosswalk at the time of the crash," police said.
The investigation is continuing, according to police.
