New Canaan Preservationists Have One Week to Save Historic House

A historic home on Ferris Hill Road's ticking clock is left with one week to be saved.

Only one week remains before the historic Hoyt-Burwell-Morse House on Ferris Hill Road can be demolished by the owner, as reported by NewCanaanite.com.

The house has been under a 90-day demolition delay since citizens argued that it had some type of significance for the town. This delay will expire Wednesday, NewCanaanite.com reported.

Preservationists have been planning to acquire the property, though it has faced hurdles along the way, according to NewCanaanite.com. An application to include the house on the CT State Register of Historic Places has reportedly been submitted.
