New Canaan Restaurant Makes Environmental Switch
Cherry Street East is eschewing plastic straws.

NEW CANAAN, CT — Cherry Street East, the popular New Canaan restaurant, has switched from plastic to paper straws out of environmental concerns for oceans, owners announced on the establishment's Facebook page.
"We already moved to paper bags and paper straws," they wrote. "Next take-out items..."
The move will cost the restaurant more money, but owner John Bergin told the New Canaan News that the benefits for the planet outweigh the cost.
