New Canaan School Calendar 2018-19: First Day Of School, Vacation

NEW CANAAN, CT — The first day of school in New Canaan is August 30 — and whether you and the kids are looking forward to the new school year or are dreading the end of summer, you’ll want to mark the date on your calendar ASAP. The New Canaan School District has released its 2018-2019 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

September

• 9/3: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/10: No School (Rosh Hashanah)
• 9/19: No School (Yom Kippur)

November

• 11/6: No School (Election Day)
• 11/21: Half Day
• 11/22 - 11/23: No School (Thanksgiving Break)

December

• 12/4 - 12/7: Parent Conference Days/ Half Day (Grade K-5 Only)
• 12/21: Half Day
• 12/24 - 12/31: Winter Break

January

• 1/1: No School (New Year's Day)
• 1/21: No School (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day)

February

• 2/15: No School (Professional Learning Day)
• 2/18: No School (Presidents' Day)
• 2/19 - 2/22: No School (February Break)

April

• 4/15 - 4/19: No School (Spring Break)

May

• 5/27: No School (Memorial Day)

June

• 6/17: Last Day of School/ Half Day
