CT Weather: 7 Days Of Rain, Storms In Our Forecast
The National Weather Service has issued new updates about potentially severe weather in the forecast for the next week.

Heavy rain and thunderstorms moved through Connecticut overnight but there is good news for today as most of the day will be dry as the heaviest rain will stay to our east Sunday. More rain and storms will arrive tonight and much of Monday will be rainy and stormy too.
After Monday, there is a chance for rain and thunderstorms everyday through Saturday but the chances are only around 50 percent each day. A storm is expected to stall off of the Connecticut coast, which is the culprit behind this stretch of stormy weather, but how close it stalls to us will be the key in how much rain and potentially severe weather we may see. That question cannot be answered currently.
Albeit VERY humid today.. much of the afternoon will be dry, with a few localized downpours in a few towns. The steady rain from the morning will move and stay to our east. #NBCCT @nbcconnecticut https://t.co/wVvfksTfOB pic.twitter.com/fUIWiGtB38

Hazardous weather is not expected at this time.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.
There is a low probability for widespread hazardous weather. A nearly stationary frontal system could produce showers and thunderstorms capable of causing flash flooding through much of the
week, but it is still too early to pinpoint exact locations that could be affected.
Hartford, Tolland and Windham counties:
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.
There is the risk for localized urban and poor drainage flash flooding anywhere west of the Cape Cod Canal. This will take place if 1 to 2 inches of rain occur in less than an hour in our typically prone locations.
The overall severe weather threat on Sunday is low...but an isolated thunderstorm or two with gusty winds is possible. The threat for a brief tornado/waterspout, while very low, can not be completely ruled out.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms will bring locally heavy downpours, especially on Monday, Thursday, and Friday.
Litchfield County:
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight
Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are possible this afternoon into tonight. Locally heavy rainfall may cause ponding or water on roadways and poor drainage flooding in a few spots.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday
There is a slight chance to low chance of thunderstorms Monday through Wednesday. Thunderstorms may contain locally heavy rainfall, with a very humid air mass in place.
There is a better chance of thunderstorms Wednesday night through Thursday when a cold front moves through the region. Some of the thunderstorms will contain very heavy rainfall with localized
heavy rain possible, which may cause small stream, and urban and poor drainage flooding.
