New Police Officer Hired in New Canaan

On April 28, Clinton Jarvis, 33, is scheduled to be sworn in as New Canaan's latest police officer.

With the hiring of Clinton R. Jarvis, due to be sworn in on April 28, New Canaan police will have 46 of their full complement of 47 officers.

Jarvis, 33, is married and has two children. He and his family currently live in Bridgeport, where he was recently employed as a patrol officer by that city’s police department (since 2011).

He graduated from Bullard Haven Technical School and attended Southern Connecticut State University and Housatonic Community College. Jarvis has earned 60 credits in the areas of Criminal Justice and Sociology.

On Thursday, April 2, Jarvis accepted a job with the New Canaan Police Departement. He begins his four-week field training program on April 30. After that, he will be allowed to patrol on his own.
