Kathy O’Day, longtime resident of Fairfield, CT, unexpectedly passed away on February 20, 2019 at the age of 60 due to complications after suffering a brain aneurysm. Kathy is survived by her sister Joan (Frank) Martino of Norfolk, MA; her children Bradley, Bryan and Brittany Coutermash; her fiancé James Orosz and her niece Abby (Tyler) Hewitt of Marion, IN. Kathy was born on April 1, 1958 in Illinois to Joseph and Marie O’Day. She graduated from New Canaan High School in 1976.

Kathy spent much of her early adult life as a stay-at-home mom and later went on to be the office manager for Marquee Pools & Service for the past two decades. Kathy was a devoted mother and avid dog lover. Those who had the pleasure of meeting Kathy know just how loving, generous, compassionate and comical of a person she was. She had many different breeds of dogs throughout her life before discovering the poodle breed in 2004. Kathy instantly fell in love with the breed. She would slowly progress into grooming and eventually go on to have one of her poodle’s (Gordon) compete and earn the title of Grand Champion.
