Obituary: Retired New Canaan Fire Capt. Angelo John Gesualdi, 75
He was a 34-year veteran of the New Canaan Fire Department, and was known for his apple pies.

Angelo John Gesualdi, 75, a life time resident of New Canaan, CT, went home to be with the Lord on September 22, 2018, with his loving family by his side.
Angelo was born on May 16, 1943 in Stamford, Connecticut; he was the son of the late Vito and Vera Coco Gesualdi. He died of a heart attack, and is survived by his faithful and beloved wife Cecilia Gesualdi his son: Don (Valerie) Gesualdi, and granddaughter Ava of New Canaan, CT, two step-daughters Clare Eelman of Stamford, CT, Elizabeth (Scott) Davidson and their daughter Brady of Guilford, CT, step-son Ray (Linda) Alfson and their children Amy and Joe of Norwalk, CT.

He was a firefighter of New Canaan for 34 years and was ranked as a Captain of the department. In his retirement, Angelo loved to start his mornings with his firehouse family and greeting each day “uptown,” seeing friends and keeping up with the community.
Amongst his many hobbies, Angelo was known for his apple pies and loved making them for friends and family to order – tart, sweet or somewhere in between. He will be sorely missed for the way he could light up a room, for his infinite stories of his early years, a sense of humor that kept everyone on their toes, and the deep love that he had for life and his family.
The Gesualdi family will receive friends and family on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 from
4:00pm - 8:00pm at Hoyt Funeral Home 199 Main Street, New Canaan, CT 06840. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at St. Aloysius Church, 21 Cherry St, New Canaan, CT 06840. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in New Canaan; CT.
