Obituary: William Boyd Kegg III, 62, Former New Canaan Resident

The following obituary of former New Canaan resident William Boyd Kegg III, 62, is from Edward Lawrence Funeral Home:
William Boyd Kegg III, of South Salem, New York, the son of Kip and Mike Farrell of New Canaan, died at his home, on Thursday, September 13, 2018. He is survived by his sisters, Gigi V. K. Guthrie and Hollis B. K. Kegg, his nieces and nephews, Nicholas and Kristen Van Nest and Gillian, Allison and Cass Knox. He was predeceased by his father William Boyd Kegg Jr.
Bill was born in Greenwich, CT on May 26, 1956. He was raised in New Canaan, Philadelphia and New York City, where he attended St. Bernard’s, Taft and Trinity Schools. He graduated from the University of California Santa Cruz with a degree in Theatre Arts and received nine competitive grants for his directing.

While he was UCSC he produced a documentary for the Anthropology Society that is now used as an educational tool in schools and libraries. Bill was part of the first pioneering wave of the professional coaching industry. He became a recognized and masterful coach with Coaches Training Institute, and founder of his own NOW Coaching and Training practice. His devotion to people and their professional growth for 22 year led him to over 40 countries worldwide, leading workshops internationally in Europe, South Africa, Middle East, Asia and North America.
Bill was a sky diver and ran the Boston Marathon. He was an avid tennis player, skier, yoga enthusiast, and was a remarkable artist. He developed his own unique style of creating art from nature, using different techniques to create unexpected and astonishing results. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor and love of his family.

He will be buried in a private ceremony in the Stephen Mather Cemetery on Saturday, September 22, 2018.
