FARMINGTON, CT — The probate judge tasked with ruling whether missing Jennifer Farber Dulos is legally dead wants more time and information before issuing a decision, writes the Hartford Courant.

On Thursday, Farmington Probate Judge Evelyn Daly heard arguments from attorneys that Jennifer Dulos, who vanished on May 24, 2019, is dead. Attorney Christopher Hug, the administrator of the estate of the late Fotis Dulos, is seeking the declaration to allow him to liquidate a 401K and other assets to pay creditors.

In Connecticut, a person typically needs to be missing for seven years before that person can be declared dead, but Hug is hoping to speed up the process.

Fotis Dulos, who died by suicide in January, was charged with kidnapping and murdering Jennifer Dulos, his estranged wife. The two were in the midst of a contentious divorce and child custody fight at the time of her disappearance; he died before he could stand trial.

Over the summer, Hug wrote to a financial institution that he believed Fotis Dulos may have dismembered Jennifer Dulos. Her body has not been found.
