Thank You for Supporting the YWL of NC's 3rd Annual Fun Run

Thank you for supporting the Young Women's League of New Canaan's 3rd Annual Little Rams Fun Run!

To the Editor:

“Run For a Reason” and “Be a Superhero” were two of the themes expressed on October 19th at the Young Women’s League of New Canaan’s 3rd Annual Little Rams Fun Run. The Fun Run was started as a way to empower local children and give them an opportunity to give back to our community. Kids learned about two local organizations and after selecting one to fundraise for, reached out to friends and family for donations. After spending September and the first part of October fundraising, 139 children ages 2-10 participated in a short run around the fields at East Elementary School. Bolstered by beautiful Fall weather, these kids came together to run, eat, and enjoy entertainment to celebrate their success!

Thanks to strong sponsor and community support, our children were able to raise over $15,000 from the Fun Run in support of this year’s giving theme: Today’s Kids, Tomorrow’s Future. These funds will go to our Featured Beneficiaries: KIDS FANS, New Canaan Mounted Troop as well as the YWL Giving Fund, which will distribute these funds to local organizations that work to enrich and change children’s lives on a daily basis.

We wish to extend a special thank you to the event’s sponsors: Porsche Greenwich, Walter Stewart’s Market, Camp Playland and New Canaan Toy Store. We are especially grateful to our entire planning committee for working tirelessly through the summer and early fall to plan a fun event that is quickly becoming a favorite town tradition, Christina Saburro Photography for capturing the event so perfectly as always, Max Engle for providing drone coverage, The Pizza Truck Co and Kona Ice Truck for spending their Saturday afternoon keeping the runners and families well-fed and Faces by Franny for her amazing face painting designs. More than anything we are proud of the children and their families that participated in this wonderful community event. Once again they proved that kids are never too young to make a difference.
