Thunderstorms Possible Today in Connecticut
Some parts of the state could see hail and potentially damaging winds.

There is still a level of uncertainty in Connecticut’s weather forecast for Wednesday. At the worst parts of the state could see some severe thunderstorms with damaging winds and hails. Or it may just be a routinely wet day.
The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Tolland and Hartford counties as well as northern Fairfield and New Haven counties. (To sign up for free, local breaking news alerts from more than 100 Connecticut communities click here.)
“A few strong to possibly severe thunderstorms are possible late this afternoon and evening across western portions of CT and MA,” the NWS said in its outlook. “The main threat will be possibly damaging winds and large hail.”

Even parts of the state that aren’t under a Hazardous Weather Outlook will have a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight, but any storms are anticipated to be less severe.
Sunshine and warmer temperatures near the ground could actually create more instability in the evening and a higher chance of thunderstorm, said NBC Connecticut’s Ryan Hanrahan.

Outlook for Rest of Week
The rain will give way to mostly sunny weather Thursday with a high of 80 in the southern part of the state and slightly cooler weather in the north.
Rain could return Friday afternoon for a short while, but other than that Friday will be mostly sunny as well with high temperatures near 73.
Saturday will stay dry, but there may be a chance of rain late in the night into Sunday.
