Updated Connecticut Bear Sightings: Where Does New Canaan Rank?

Officials from the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection released updated black bear sighting statistics this week.

The latest chart dates from Aug. 26, 2016 to Aug. 23, 2017 and includes municipalities with at least one sighting.

Avon was ahead of the pack, as usual, with 528. Farmington also maintained the No. 2 spot with 454, while Simsbury was third at 343.
