1 Shot In Brawl Outside Newington Restaurant
A victim was shot in a Newington brawl early Tuesday morning.
NEWINGTON, CT — A large brawl in the parking lot of Plaza Azteca early Tuesday resulted in one person being shot, according to police. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
Police received a call at 1 a.m. regarding the brawl at the 3260 Berlin Turnpike address. The caller reported hearing a gunshot but he did not see anyone with a weapon.
Officers arrived on scene to find a large number of vehicles leaving the area but no victims were identified.

About half an hour later, the Newington Police Department was notified by the Waterbury Police Department that a gunshot victim was currently being treated at Waterbury Hospital and the victim reported he was shot at Plaza Azteca.
Detectives from the Newington Police Department responded to Plaza Azteca to process the scene for evidence from the shooting.

This isn't the first incident to occur at the local restaurant. Back in April a double-stabbing incident occurred inside the restaurant leaving two people with serious injuries, police say. Four people in total were injured.
