Couple Arrested After Newington Robbery: PD
A man pulled a gun during a shoplifting incident, police said.
NEWINGTON, CT — Two people were arrested after a reported robbery shoplifting incident at Walmart April 30, according to police.
Loss prevention workers at the store observed two people shoplift items and exit the store. A loss prevention worker confronted the couple in the parking lot and Gregory Ortiz, 44, of Tolland pulled a gun from his waistband and pointed it at the worker, police said.
Newington Police tracked the vehicle into Wethersfield a short time after the incident until it stopped at the City Side Inn. Newington and Wethersfield Police then converged on the couple and took them into custody without incident.

Ortiz was charged with first-degree robbery, second-degree threatening and two counts of sixth degree larceny. Katlyn Bilodeau, 32, of Willington was charged with first-degree robbery and two counts of sixth-degree larceny.
