Creative Playtime Preschool Program Prepares For Brand New Class

Registration begins Feb. 9 for the program, now with extended hours.

Looking for a top-notch preschool program for your 3 or 4 year old for the 2021-2022 school year with extremely convenient hours? Look no further! Newington Parks and Recreation’s Creative Playtime Preschool Program doesn’t just offer a curriculum and teachers that are second-to-none; it is also extremely affordable and offers a unique, flexible schedule. The 2021-2022 school year will offer either a full day from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., a morning session from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or an afternoon session from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m.! “These new hours are extremely convenient for families,” said Karen Gallicchio, Recreation Supervisor who oversees the program. The school will be held in the beautiful new Maureen Romano Preschool classroom in the new Town Hall.

Licensed by the Connecticut Office of Early Childhood since 2007, the program is going into its 15th year of operation, and the 2021-2022 school year will offer more than ever before. “Parents, just imagine dropping your child off at the brand new Mortensen Community Center and having them utilize the gymnasium and commercial kitchen and be only steps away from the Town library, pool and the new outdoor play area just across the street at Mill Pond Park,” remarked Bill DeMaio, Superintendent of Newington Parks and Recreation.

Sign up for two full days and save $200.00; three full days and save $300.00; four full days and save $400.00; or five full days and save $500.00. Pay in full for an additional savings of $200.00. Full days are $65.00 each and half days are only $32.50 each. We also offer Flex Days—ask about them when you contact the Parks and Recreation office! Proper COVID-19 protocols will continue to be followed, as needed, in the new school year.

Registration for the 2021-2022 school year will begin for returning families on February 2, 2021 and on February 9, 2021 for new families. Registration forms can be found on the Parks and Recreation website at www.newingtonct.gov/parksandrec or by contacting the Parks and Recreation Office.
