NEWINGTON, CT — The Newington Parks and Recreation Department announced today that they have secured a NEW public/private partnership with the Flood Law Firm, one of the best personal injury law firms in Connecticut. They will be sponsoring two major upcoming Newington Parks and Recreation special events. The first event will be the Department’s, first ever, Food Truck Friday event on Friday, June 11th from 6:00 to 9:30 p.m. at Mill Pond Park. There will be a fantastic live concert by the band BooYah!, a popular jazz funk rock band. They will undoubtedly draw a crowd from all over the region. Food trucks will be on site for the event and will be offering many delectable dishes that evening.
As a result of the Flood Law Firm coming forward and joining forces with the Platinum Sponsor, Century 21 Northeast, the Newington Parks and Recreation Department is now able to offer free vendor booth spaces for Newington restaurants to sell their mouthwatering dishes, as an economic impact boost. The vendor booth application fee for the Food Truck Friday event is normally $300.00 each and the Department is very excited to help support our local restaurants. “This will be a wonderful opportunity for all Newington restaurants, big and small, to get their names and their food in front of thousands of people again,” said Bill DeMaio, Superintendent of Newington Parks and Recreation. This will be a Taste of Newington, alongside a very entertaining horn band performance. Train rides will be offered for only $3.00 each and the fun will not stop there. A beer and wine tent, featuring Happy Harry’s Wine and Liquor Warehouse, will be set up selling ice cold beer and tasty wines, including red, white, and blush. You won’t want to miss all the action and fun on Friday, June 11th from 6:00 to 9:30 p.m.! The Department is still accepting food truck vendors for this event, interested vendors should contact the Parks and Recreation Office at 860-665-8666. All proceeds from this event will go to the Life. Be in it. Extravaganza Fireworks Fund.
