Man Kicked Out Of Newington Gym Over Safety Complaint

NEWINGTON, CT - A retired Hartford firefighter said local gym Big Sky kicked him out after he complained about a safety issue, NBC Connecticut reported. Mark Walsh, of West Hartford, said he complained to town officials after seeing unsafe renovations going on in the gym.

Newington Fire Chief Chris Schroeder told NBC that he inspected the gym following the complaints and issued a stop work order as the construction company did not have the proper permits. However, the work continued.

Several weeks after his complaint, Walsh's gym membership was terminated. Big Sky did not comment on the situation.
