Newington Approves Large Mixed-Use Proposal
The town has approved plans for an apartment complex and retail space on the Berlin Turnpike.
NEWINGTON, CT — The town has approved a Massachusetts-based developer’s mixed-use project that will occupy a vacant property on the Berlin Turnpike, according to The Hartford Business Journal. The proposal from Framingham-based Grossman Development Group includes 269 apartments and 80,000 square feet of retail space.
The planning board approved the project at 3333 Berlin Turnpike/Route 5 last week.
Tenants have not been announced but the developer has worked with Whole Foods in several other states, according to The Hartford Business Journal.
