Newington Business Among 14 Recent Liquor License Suspensions

NEWINGTON, CT — A total of 14 Connecticut businesses, including a Newington establishment, had their liquor licenses suspended during May and June 2018, according to public information from the Department of Consumer Protection's Liquor Control Commission.

In Newington, Plaza Wine and Liquor at 2451 Berlin Turnpike served a one-day license suspension in June.

Suspensions ranged from one day to indefinite, and fines between $500 and $5,000 were meted out for various offenses, including selling liquor to minors, refusal of cooperation by permittees and backers, smoking, dispersing of liquor without a permit, minors in barrooms and suspension of permit for failure to pay unemployment compensation contributions.
