A $10-million, 122-room extended stay hotel in Newington was approved by the Planning and Zoning Commission.

NEWINGTON, CT — Newington's Planning and Zoning Commission has approved a proposal for a $10 million extended-stay hotel on Cedar Street near Central Connecticut State University, according to The Hartford Business Journal. The proposal calls for the four-story, 122-room hotel to be located next to Starbucks, across Route 9 from the university.
The project's developer is Manchester-based Hayes-Kaufman, which is requesting a 10-year, 40 percent tax abatement from the city. The project is anticipated to create 250 construction jobs and 15 permanent jobs.
