Newington Market Will Close This Month
A business with a strong local following announced it will close its doors.
NEWINGTON, CT — Local Market has announced that it will close its Newington store. Located on Lowery Place, the market announced it will close at the end of this month in a social media post.
The business has been around for six years. Owners thanked the community for their patronage and invited people to come in before the store closes.
The market received an outpouring of support after the announcement on Facebook. "Sorry to hear they had the best deli and produce!!!" one user said.

"This is a major loss for the North end of town. You can't please everyone. Would be a great place for an IGA," said another user.
"I will miss your store so much, especially the fresh fish, meats and produce. It feels so different shopping in an independent store. I feel sad for all your friendly, helpful employees. Huge loss for us."
