
Henry E. Pike, 94, of Newington, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 25, 2018.
Born in Springfield, MA, son of the late Henry and Lena (Trahan) Pike, he moved to West Hartford in 1960 and was a Newington resident for the last 30 years. Henry served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during World War II as an Aviator and was a member of St. Mary's Church, Newington. Henry enjoyed fishing and was an avid sports fan, especially the Patriots and the Red Sox.
A loving father, grandfather and great grandfather, he leaves his four sons, Steve Pike and his wife Elizabeth of Newington, David Pike and his companion Lois of Willington, Ronald Pike and his wife Donna of West Hartford, Gregory Pike and his wife Kristine of Hebron, his daughter, Catherine Olson-Garuti and her husband James of Terryville, and their mother, Bette Mae (Aldrich) Pike of North Windham, seven grandchildren, Chris Pike, Jeffrey Pike, Amber Hodska, Jordan Pike, Caralee Olson, Jesse Pike and Alex Pike, and five great grandchildren.

His family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at UConn Health, Jefferson House and Bel Air Manor for all of the care and compassion given to Henry during the past few years, especially Marcie and Juan.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, May 30th, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington, followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. He will be laid to rest with military honors in St. Michael's Cemetery, Springfield, MA.
