Newington Obituary: Leatrice Vercelli, 92

Leatrice “Lee” Vercelli, 92, joined the love of her life Louis D. Vercelli on July 18, 2018. Lee died at LiveWell in Plantsville where she and Louis lived since March, 2010. Louis died in 2011. From 1955 to 2010, they resided on Goodale Dr. in Newington.

Born in Caribou Maine in 1926, Lee was 4th child to Theodore and Marie Chaloult. The family moved to Elmwood in 1943. In addition to her parents, Lee was pre-deceased by siblings Vivian (Henry) Cusson, Kenneth (Anne) Chaloult, Patricia (Joseph) Zongol, Louine (Robert) Pfund; father and mother- in-law Joseph and Angelina Vercelli, brother-in-law Jack Vercelli, sister-in-law Joanne Nolan , brother-in-law Ted Korzick, nephew Alan Chaloult, and nieces Jill Vercelli and Maureen Nolan.

Lee is survived by her sister Sandra Korzick of Timonium, MD, brother-in-law Donald Nolan of Mansfield Center, sisters-in-law Joan Vercelli of East Granby and Barbara Vercelli of West Hartford, brother-in-law Chelso Arrigoni (Anne) of Westbrook, 20 nieces/nephews and spouses, 39 great nieces/nephews and spouses, and 21 great-great nieces/nephews.

Lee worked for 40 years in the Bond Dept of the Aetna, was a long time, active member of the Aetna 39ers and always a willing volunteer to worthwhile causes. She was totally devoted to her family and friends and greatly loved by all who knew her.

A great debt of gratitude is owed the terrific staff at LiveWell who provided both Louis and Lee fantastic care. They truly became part of Lee and Louis’s family.

A funeral service for Lee will be held Friday, July 27th at 9:15 a.m. from the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, Newington. Interment will be in West Meadow Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call Thursday from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Newington Memorial.
