Newington Obituary: Panfilo Carducci, 89

Panfilo Carducci, 89, of Newington beloved husband for 56 years of Delfina (Giardini) Carducci, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, July 25, 2018.

Born on November 17, 1928 in Pratola Peligna, province of L’Aquila, Italy, he was the son of the late Marino and Felicia (DeSimone) Carducci. He worked for many years as a machinist at Horst Engineering in East Hartford.

Panfilo was a devoted and loving family man who will be forever missed by his adored wife Delfina; his son, Marino Carducci and wife Maria of West Hartford; his daughter, Maria Caruso and husband Bruno of Farmington and his six cherished grandchildren who brought him so much joy, Ashley, Micheal, Francesca, Pasquale, Bruno, Jr. and Alex. He is also survived by his brother, Vincenzo Carducci of Newington, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, both here in the U.S. and in Pratola Peligna, Italy. He was predeceased by his brother, Giovanni Carducci and his sister, Giuseppina Zavarella.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday (July 28) at 10:30 a.m. at Annunciation Parish at the Church of St. Mary, 626 Willard Ave., Newington. Entombment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Family and friends may call on Saturday morning prior to the Mass, from 8-9:45 a.m., at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield.
