Newington Set to Open Softball Tournament On the Road

The Indians begin Class LL state tournament play with an away game Tuesday.

NEWINGTON, CT — Looking for its first-ever state championship, the Newington High School softball team begins its quest for a Class LL title on the road Tuesday.

The 24th-seeded Indians will open the tournament at No. 9 South Windsor, as pairings were announced Friday morning.

Top seeds in the four divisions are Southington (LL), Masuk (L), Northwestern Regional (M) and Stafford (S).
