Newington Webster Bank Branch To Close

NEWINGTON, CT — Waterbury-based Webster Bank has announced it will close 27 locations including 16 branches in Connecticut, including the Newington location, The Hartford Courant reported. The move comes as the bank reports that more customers are choosing mobile and online services, especially since the COVID-19 pandemic struck in March.

The Newington location is at 3180 Berlin Turnpike. The closings are expected to be this spring, but no specific date has been announced. It's unclear how many employees will be affect by the closures, according to The Courant.
