Newington's Stew Leonard's Named Among Best Supermarkets in U.S.

NEWINGTON, CT -- Niche food industry site The Daily Meal released its 2018 list of the best supermarkets, and Newington's Stew Leonard's came in at number eight out of 20, and first in Connecticut.

In its review, the site noted that Stew Leonard's is "valued for its serious commitment to customer loyalty and the in-store experience as well as for the quality and variety of products offered. Their motto is 'The customer is always right!'”

To qualify for consideration on the list, the site required that stores have locations in multiple states (Stew Leonard's has sites in New York as well as Connecticut). They were then ranked on The Daily Meal's list of the best supermarkets in every state and evaluated against their reviews and check-ins on sites like Yelp and Foursquare.

Also making the list were Trader Joe's and Whole Foods, both larger chains with local outlets.
