He lived most of his adult life in Newington.

Allan Andrew Carlson, of Newington, CT passed away Thursday February 7, 2019 at Hartford Hospital surrounded by family and friends at the age of eighty-seven. A lifelong outdoorsman, artist, and carpenter, his success stories include: Narrowly avoiding a hungry bear in Alaska, wild boar hunting in North Carolina, building garages at home, and an art exhibit at Lucy Robbins Wells Library. He was a member of Victory Church in Middlefield, CT and was also a Korean War veteran serving in the United States Air Force.

Allan was born and raised in New Britain by his parents Gustave and Judith Carlson, but lived the majority of his adult life in Newington. His wife Rosemary Carlson passed away in 2005 and he leaves behind a son and daughter in law, Mark and Liz Carlson.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday (February 16, 2019) at 11 AM in the Rose Hill Funeral Home 580 Elm St. Rocky Hill. Burial with military honors will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 10 to 11 AM just prior to the service.
