Obit: Daniel Frye, 95, Of Newington

Daniel E. Frye, 95, of Newington and formerly of West Hartford, loving husband of 71 years to Ruth E. (Jerome) Frye, passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at the Hospital of Central Care in New Britain. Born on April 15, 1923, in Brookton, ME, Daniel was the son of the late William P. and Jessie (Sweeney) Frye.

A veteran of WWII, he proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army and prior to his retirement, he was employed as an aircraft fabricator for Kaman Aerospace. Dan was a member of Elmwood Community Church and a former chaplain and member of VFW Post 9929 in West Hartford.

He was a loyal and dedicated Boston Red Sox Fan. Dan was a wonderful father to Daniel H. Frye of CA, Bruce E. Frye (JoAnn) of Broad Brook, Kathryn E. Belliveau (Marc) of Newington and Robbin A. Frye (Dave Olson) of Avon. He was a marvelous grandfather to Monique Cervera of NC, Jeremy Frye of Broad Brook, Jessica and Matthew Glasser of S. Windsor, and Nicholas Frye. He was great grandfather to Austin, Declan, Molly, Morgan, Vadalynne, Logan and Thomas Frye. Dan had many wonderful dear friends. Relatives and friends may call on Dan’s family on Monday, December 10, 2018 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington, followed by a service at 10:00 a.m. at Newington Memorial.
