Obit: Drieu-Ann Connors, 49, Of Newington

Drieu-Ann (King) Connors, 49, of Newington, beloved wife of 24 years to Michael Connors, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on Sunday, August, 19, 2018, with her loving family by her side. Born in Hartford on October 18, 1968, Drieu-Ann was the daughter of Alan and Judith (Naylor) King of Wethersfield. Drieu-Ann graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English. She continued her education, earning her Nursing Home Administrator License, and was most recently employed as an Administrator at Maple View Health and Rehabilitation in Rocky Hill.

Drieu-Ann loved all genres of music, watching old black and white movies and dancing. She enjoyed making jewelry and playing golf and tennis. But more than anything, she loved being a mom and treasured the time spent with her cherished daughters, Makenzie Drieu and Kiley Marie. She is also survived by her brother James King and his wife Bonnie of Vernon, her mother-in-law Kathryn Connors of Rocky Hill, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Don and Kathy Griswold of Wethersfield, Arlene Connors of Rocky Hill, and Brian Connors of Boston, MA; nieces and nephews, Kimberly Griswold, Kevin and Alyssa Griswold, Katie Connors and Carlito King; aunts, uncles, cousins, her best friend Ann Marie Gagliardi of Colchester, and her devoted dog and shadow, Macy.

We will miss her beautiful smile and her wonderful laugh, and we will remember her at the places she loved, the beach, the lake and by the pool, surrounded by the love of family and friends. Her family would like to express its deepest appreciation to the Helen and Harry Gray Cancer Center, especially Dr. Hong, Tiffany, Alicia and all of the staff. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Drieu-Ann’s life with the Connors family on Friday evening from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington.
