Maria Cristina Arcari, 78, of Newington, beloved wife of 57 years to Pasquale Arcari, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 6, 2018. Born on August 26, 1940 in Sepino, Italy, Cristina was the daughter of the late Nicola and Domenica (Pezzente) Lisella. Prior to her retirement, she worked at Conard High School in West Hartford. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Newington and a member of the Santa Cristina Society. She loved to have friends and family over on Sunday’s for a big home cooked family meal. She was known for her generous nature and her green thumb. She loved her family and being a wife, mother and grandmother. Besides her loving husband, Pasquale, she leaves her three sons and their families, Donato Arcari and his fiancée Joyce of Waterbury, Anthony Arcari and his wife Jennifer of Cromwell and John Arcari and his wife Patricia of Wethersfield, her siblings, Anthony Lisella of East Hartford and Joanne Pinto and her husband Paul Longo of New Britain, as well as her granddaughters, Michelle, Nicole and Erica, her great granddaughter, Khloe and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will begin on Monday morning, December 10, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. at the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, Newington. She will be lovingly laid to rest in West Meadow Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call on the family on Sunday, December 9, 2018 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Newington Memorial. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that memorial donations in Cristina’s memory be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, P.O.
